The promise
By the end of Day 0 you will have sent a human reply, not rebuilt your stack or enrolled them in a seven-email nurture. Day 2 and Day 5 are already on the calendar. You will not have auto-sent a follow-up, invented two slots, or promised yourself you will “never talk to leads again.” If you only have time for one thing, reply to the live unanswered inquiry. A sequence in a bookmarks folder is how yeses leak while you keep delivering.

Day 0: reply the same day
A form lands, or a mail hits the inbox. Draft under 120 words: one question, two times that exist. Sixty-second read. Send. Never auto-send. Never invent a slot. If an unanswered inquiry is sitting there from this week, Day 0 is today.

Where inquiries die
Unowned form, reply in four days, “just circling back,” a sequence that keeps talking after they booked with someone else. The leak is the 48 hours after they reach you — not a content gap, and not a personality you need to fix.

The 7-day calendar
Day 0 reply, Day 2 nudge, Day 5 last note, then stop or park. Three holds on a calendar. Send in their morning, not yours at 2 a.m. Seven days is how long you wait before you choose, not a promise that anyone signs on day seven.

The first reply (under 120 words)
Name, quoted ask, one question, two true times or a live booking link. No brochure. No “I have one slot left.” Count the words. If you cannot fit it, you are pitching, not replying.

Quiet vs no, then stop
Two different letters. A no leaves the sheet. Quiet gets a last note, then you assume a no. Stop means stop: unenroll the same hour. Parking every silent row is how you build the graveyard.

Human gate vs the canvas
What n8n or Make may draft. What must never auto-send. Idempotency so Day 2 does not fire twice. A canvas may log a row, make a task, draft to you. You hit send.

Who it’s for
- You run a one-person service business, or you are the only person allowed to reply to inquiries.

- Will this auto-send follow-ups?
- No. A tool may draft. You still hit send. A workflow that auto-sends “I have two slots left this week” is how a ghost Thursday leaves the house. Human-in-the-loop means you. Not a Wait node. Not a language model with a Gmail node after it.
- Do I need n8n for this?
- No. The calendar is the product. The canvas is optional. The free inquiry n8n guide is the sequence: Day 0 / Day 2 / Day 5, human gate, never auto-send. - Is this a guarantee they’ll book?
- No. People inquire on a Tuesday and hire their cousin on Wednesday. You control the send, the follow-up, and whether you keep talking. You do not control their yes.
